Spellshop

 When the world hits me in the face I definitely need the embrace of a gentle story.  Spellshop was exactly what the doctor ordered! This whimsical cozy fantasy had a much lighter tone than what I typically gravitate towards.

This book had everything I needed in a story to feel comforted--a magical island where violent storms are beautiful and plants are friends; a slow burn romance where building bookshelves is the sign of affection; mouth watering descriptions of baked goods and a town that comes together as a community. I really did not want this book to come to an end. I just wanted to stay lost in the whimsical world of magical possibilities.
