Sleeping Beauties

This book took me longer to read than usual. I put in my two weeks notice into work and was carrying the book everywhere with me. There were numerous phone calls to make and things to ensure my time with my company went to a smooth close. Time to sit and read the book felt like the only time I had where I wasn't trying to cross things off of a to do list. I could have analyzed the gender implications of the plot or Kings brilliant writing. But the act of holding a hardcover book and losing myself in a story felt like the most restful place I had for awhile. The plot was suspenseful but having another world to retreat to helped me stop thinking in to do lists and surrendering myself to the story.  I could just sit and be!
