Salt

Well written poetry invites the reader into the anatomy of a moment. Jamie Parsley's latest collection Salt is a deep dive into the quieting aspects of grief. The exquisite poetry illuminates the beauty found in the mystery of death. The pages sing a bittersweet longing for new life and appreciation for the moments that are present. Anglican liturgy is a central place for finding hope, however nature also plays a huge role as well. It is as though the poet has cried onto the pages but orders his sorrow into a piece of artwork that provokes the reader into a quiet contemplation.

If you are in the mood for some deeply meditative poetry read this book. But search for the book by the authors full name or you might have a lot of spice recommendations in your search engine. And once you receive a copy of it, it is one of those books that needs complete silence and a box of Kleenex. It serves as a reminder that beauty is still found in the mist of sorrow.

I am also posting this review on Goodreads and amazon.
