Selling the Dream

As a fan of Jane Marie's The Dream podcast, Selling the Dream was a highly anticipated book for me. It devoured it quickly! I especially loved the historical research on MLMs (multi level marketing)  that many books on the subject gloss over quickly or neglect. It really shed a lot of light on the way the development of MLMs impacted the way American thought and commerce had developed. I've read a few criticisms of the book that it goes into a lot of same territory that the podcast does. There is truth to that, however personally information stick better for me if I digest it in a written format. Jane Marie takes a conversational tone to academic research, making for an easily accessible and quick read. I definitely would place it next to Hey Hun and Cultish for great resources on multi level marketing schemes.
